What is it to be alive?
Breathing is a passionate documentary film directed by Bafta winning fiction director Morag McKinnon & Grierson nominated documentary director Emma Davie following the final months in life of their old friend Neil Platt, who is dying from Motor Neurone Disease. The film interweaves the wider story of our genetic code, and the hope of finding a cure through major developments in genetic science by Prof Chris Shaw.

I knew Neil a little through his brother Matt whom I grew up with. I was shocked to hear what had happened some years later. My heart goes out to all who knew Neil, especially Matt.
